I am entering an exciting phase in the publishing process for Rain Dodging: Connecting Royal History, Travel, and a Woman’s Personal Journey,* Fall 2023, She Writes Press.
A few weeks ago, I met via Facetime with my copy editor for the first time. I like her. We started working right away.
I have started attending my publisher’s weekly office hours to soak up knowledge.
I submitted my Cover Design Memo, a written document for internal communication with the cover designer.
I also submitted my Tip Sheet for review, which includes:
- A concise description of book
- The book’s metadata (ISBN, price, category, page count)
- A description of book’s marketing plan
- Audience
- Comparable titles
- Strong reviews by major media or blurbs by other known authors
- A brief bio of author
Applied to National Portrait Gallery, London, for licensing permissions for three paintings.
Contacted in-house PR woman requesting a chat to see if we jive. Working on a list of interview questions.
*Along the way, I am asking for ‘re-naming my subtitle’ help. I would love something ‘catchier.’
